A decision was made some years ago to set aside a portion of the parish budget to help needy members of St. Joseph's and the surrounding communities. This "tithing" is our way to share with those less fortunate among us.

St. Joseph Cares traditionally used a percentage of the Sunday collection to reach out to worthy causes in our locale and across the world. These funds, administered by the pastor and the St. Joseph Cares Committee, have been used for many charitable purposes, including everything from paying winter fuel oil and electric bills, birthday and Christmas gifts for children, mobile meals on wheels, emergency travel expenses, Safer Futures, Fr. John Dailey's mission work in South America, disaster relief, and the work of our St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Contact the Parish Office (330.274.2253 or parishoffice@stjosephmantua.com) if you have or know of a critical need for assistance.
