Welcome to The Parish Community of St. Joseph's website. As you get acquainted to our parish, it is our hope that you will take advantage of the many activities that happen throughout the year. You will find the people of St. Joseph to be very welcoming and inviting. The parish, since its inception in 1864, has been blessed with enthusiastic, dedicated, and faith-filled people committed to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
As of May 28, 2022, St. Joseph Church, St. Ambrose Church in Garrettsville, St. Joan of Arc in Streetsboro, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora officially became a collaborative region known as northern Portage County.
Fr. Shawn Conoboy has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph and St. Ambrose. Fr. Conoboy maintains his responsibilities as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer,
and part-time professor at Walsh University. He will work with Fr. Chris Luoni, pastor of St. Joan of Arc, Streetsboro, to serve the needs of the faithful of all four parishes in northern Portage County.
As of July 1, 2022, Fr. Joseph Ruggieri as been appointed parochial vicar at St. Joseph Parish in Mantua, St. Ambrose Parish in Garrettsville, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Aurora, and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Streetsboro.
St. Joseph Masses are currently at 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday. Weekday Mass is celebrated at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and 8 a.m. on Thursday. Reconciliation is available prior to these weekday evening Masses.
Deacon Gerry Scopilliti and Deacon Steven Gies will be assisting the priests as they serve the four parishes of northern Portage County.
It was announced through a January 8, 2023, letter from Fr. Shawn, Fr. Joe, and Fr. Chris that the Portage North Region will be under the guidance of one Pastor and one Parochial Vicar beginning July 1, 2023. To read the letter in it's entirety, click here.
