"The most effective catechetical program for adolescents are integrated into a comprehensive program of pastoral ministry for youth that includes catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship. Such programs aim to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community; and to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person." CLOW RETURNS SEPTEMBER 8, 2024!
Held weekly during Sunday's 9 a.m. Mass (September-April while Faith Formation is in session), the Children's Liturgy of the Word Program is designed for children in Pre-School (4 years) through 2nd grade. No registration is necessary. is an extension of the main assembly celebration. It draws children into the liturgy at their own level which will enable them to participate and understand what is proclaimed in the celebrations.
The children will be called to the steps of the altar by the presider just after the opening prayer. They will then be led to the Conference Room by the Children's Liturgist to hear the readings on their level and participate in related materials and activities. They will return to their seats just before offertory time.
If you would like the opportunity to reflect more deeply on the Sunday readings, share your faith with young children, and meet your Sunday obligation ALL at the same time, then you might consider becoming a Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) Catechist. If you are interested in becoming a CLOW catechist, please contact our Director of Religious Education, Jennifer Berczik at the Office of St. Joseph & St. Ambrose Parishes (330-274-2253, ext. 305 or [email protected]).
