St. Joseph’s Maintenance & Grounds Ministry, formed in December 2018, includes a special group of volunteers who are responsible for the care and maintenance of the physical facilities and the grounds of our parish. Like the skeleton of the human body, the work of this organization is to support the mission and ministry of the church, by caring for the concrete, physical foundation of parish life. It is responsible for assuring maintenance and repairs are accomplished in a professional and timely manner in accordance with principles of good stewardship.They manage the care of the buildings and grounds of our entire parish property with the help of a team of other volunteers with varying expertise in general maintenance and repair, plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, mechanics, refrigeration, phone systems, and grounds keeping. We are grateful for this “labor of love” ministry whose members are not afraid to get their hands dirty and take pride in the upkeep of the Parish Community of St. Joseph. In addition, members of Knights of Columbus Council #3766 take on projects to assist the parish as well.

MINISTRY EXPANDING
This group of dedicated men and women are looking for several more people to join the team. Currently, Greg D’Aurelio coordinates this ministry along with crew chiefs Don Engelhart and John Kruis. There is a mowing & weed wacking crew and a sidewalk snow removal team. Recently, some people have agreed to take on the responsibility of being heads of different maintenance areas including Ed Zwolinski (Rectory), John Lesnak (Ox Barn & Tractor Barn), Drake Engelhart (Church, All-Purpose Room, Narthex), and Donny Sherbondy (Hughes Hall, Kitchen, Hall Utility Room), George Trares (Parish Center & Offices). Welcome New Staff Person (January 2019)
W
e wish to welcome Dan Nuti as our new janitor. He’ll be working part-time cleaning Hughes Hall, kitchen and school building, disposing of trash and recycling, maintaining water softeners, and noting needed repairs.
Dan and his family have been members of the parish since 2009. Residing in Hiram, he and his wife, Wendy, have four kids, Dan, with the Rocky River PD, Joe and Pete both in the U.S. Army Infantry, and Emily, a student and gifted artist. Graduating from St. Edward High School, Dan served 28 years as a Cleveland police officer (retired). He enjoys motorcycling and is a member of the Catholic Cross Bearers Motorcycle Ministry. He takes part in the Men of St. Joseph spirituality group.
