Eucharistic Revival Retreat Inspires Over 70 Attendees from 13 Parishes at St. Joseph Church
On Saturday, October 21st, the Portage North parishes hosted an inspiring and spiritually enriching Eucharistic Revival Retreat, an event that brought together a diverse group of over 70 individuals seeking to deepen their understanding and connection with the Eucharist in conjunction with the
National Eucharistic Revival.
The retreat, a day of reflection and communal worship, focused on various aspects of the Eucharist, ranging from its historical and scriptural significance to the profound belief in Transubstantiation, the concept of Eucharistic Miracles, and personal stories that highlighted the miraculous effects of the Eucharist in people's lives. The event also featured Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, an essential aspect of Eucharistic devotion.
The impetus for this retreat came from a divine inspiration, a calling by the Holy Spirit, as shared by Joe
Daczko, one of the event's key organizers. Joe, along with a dedicated lay team, including Angela Daczko, Don Engelhart, Deacon Gerry Scopilliti, John and Shannon Lesnak, Doug and Carie Engelhart, Lee and Christina Dorrance and Marcy and Don Fleming, worked tirelessly to create a memorable and spiritually uplifting experience for all attendees. Special thanks to Matt Minnick for working the sound boards.
The retreat was a day filled with various activities that aimed to nurture the participants' connection to the Eucharist. These activities included Adoration, Reconciliation, Mass, a communal dinner, and a heartwarming bonfire. These elements were thoughtfully incorporated to provide participants with a holistic experience, bringing both spiritual and communal dimensions to the event.
The Eucharistic Revival Retreat at St. Joseph Church Mantua served as a testament to the power of faith, unity, and the transformative effects of the Eucharist in the lives of those who attended. The shared personal stories and reflections resonated deeply with participants, leaving a lasting impression on their spiritual journeys.
The organizers wish to express their gratitude to all who attended, as well as to the wider community for their support. Events like this are a testament to the strength of faith and the power of community, and they serve as an inspiration for others to seek a deeper connection with the Eucharist.
Some comments received after the retreat:
“Angela, I felt like I made my first communion this morning! Wow, just wow! I always believed but I don’t think I truly understood. “
"God is so good. I am humbled and blessed. Fr. Lang told me how awestruck he was by the things he heard by attendees. I’ve never seen so many people go to the sacrament of reconciliation in all my years being Catholic- a constant revolving door for both priests for the entire time of adoration. Amazing. Thank you all so very much."
