Ever just need a friend? Want to grow closer to God? Come and join us! Let’s share in friendship, food and Christ. No commitment, if you can come, come! Maybe we will open our Bibles and read together, play games, shrine visits, go to the movies, go for a walk . . . anything goes!! But the idea behind this group is to know of a place where you can go when you feel the need to be with some soul sisters!
Soul Sister . . .connected eternally,

Women’s Renewal is a spiritual renewal process which calls together women to make the Christian community more and more a reality as an authentic sign of Christ’s love present with His People.
Renewals are typically held once a year for a weekend experience. Women minister to other women whereby a formation period leads to a team ministry for the next renewal. The responsibility of the renewal process is transferred from team to team.
How and Why Does Renewal Happen?
Participants come together in a very casual, yet effective Christian atmosphere of sharing and dialogue where God invites them to experience New Life with Him. Renewal happens to allow God’s grace to touch an individual in a new way.
The Renewal process allows God the opportunity to work His miracles in your life through:
Christ calls you to spend some quality time with Him. The world is full of stress and distractions that lead us away from the real meaning of Life.....Relationship. From the beginning of time, God commands us to love, to love Him, ourselves and others. Following that command demands hard work. It is easy to forget that our relationship with God is just as demanding as our other relationships.
All women 18 years and older are invited to attend the St. Ambrose & St. Joseph Women’s Spiritual Renewal Weekend, April 23-24, 2022, at Camp Asbury (10776 Asbury Rd., Hiram). Themed “Let Me Tell You ‘Bout My Jesus”, the weekend begins with 7:30 a.m. check-in on Saturday and ends by 2 p.m. on Sunday. This is a free, two-day gathering of adult Christian women (Catholic & non-Catholic) coming together in faith to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and other Christian women. Take some time for yourself, come enjoy fellowship, laughs, and much more! Self care includes your spirit. Ladies, it can start with renewal. Brochures with a registration form are available in the Narthex or through the links section of this page. Please contact Audrey McGinnis (330-285-3457) with any questions you may have.

1. Tell me briefly, what is it?
It is a time to relax, pray, and rethink priorities. It is a time to get to know others in the parish and grow as a community. Renewal is an opportunity to examine, to rediscover and to deepen your personal relationship with Christ. It is a weekend of reflection and sharing of spiritual and real life issues.
2. What is it not?
3. What happens during the weekend?
The weekend includes group activities and discussions, prayer, sacraments together, and reflections by fellow parishioners on such subjects as: Father’s loving care for us, Renewal, Discipleship, Eucharist, Scripture, Reconciliation, and what Christian Life is all about. It has been said: “You can’t explain what happens; you have to experience it.” This is your invitation to the experience.
4. Where and when is the renewal weekend held?
The weekend will be held at: Camp Asbury Hiram, 10776 Asbury Rd., Hiram, OH 44234 on April 23-24, 2022.
5. How long will it last?
Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and will end by 2 p.m. Sunday.
6. Who may come?
All ladies 18 or older are invited to attend the Renewal Weekend. (Catholic or non–Catholic).
7. I’m doubtful. Who will invite me?
Just by reading this you are invited. There is no pressure to attend. It is up to you. Praying for guidance is important. If you feel that Christ, through the Holy Spirit or through a human mediator is calling, then please COME!
8. Where do people sleep?
You will be sleeping in beds! Bring whatever linens, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags you desire.
9. What about meals?
Hot meals are served. The food is excellent and the portions ample. There are regular breaks for coffee, soft drinks and snacks. We will try our best to accommodate all dietary needs.
10. What is the uniform of the day?
Casual and comfortable clothes. We suggest dressing in layers because Spring weather in Ohio can never make up it’s mind.
11. Can I afford the cost?
It’s free! There will be an optional “love” offering at the close of the weekend to help support continuation.
12. I’d like to attend the weekend, but I have a health problem.
Mention that you have a special need on the Registration Form. Someone from the Renewal team will contact you about your specific requirements. There are very few situations we cannot accommodate.
13. I’m still not sure. How do I know if I need renewal?
As Christians we are called to continually renew our faith and our relationship with Christ. As a parish we are called to continually renew our community, to experience “being church for others”. Do not worry about your preconceived reluctance to participate.
14. How do I register?
Three easy ways to register: Pick-up or download the brochure with registration form. Then you may drop the form in the collection basket at St.Joseph Church or St. Ambrose Church. Or you may email it to wspiritrenewal@gmail.com.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, limited number of slots are available.
Invitations are accepted on a “first come, first served” basis.
Our women’s renewal team in conjunction with Camp Asbury
will work together to follow the CDC and local guidelines.
